Cloud Makers responded in a timely fashion and provided me with some help regarding how to connect the AZEQ5 with the AstroTelescope. I had to use the USB-Serial connection and the Celestron Telescope profile. That sorted my telescope connection with no need to INDI intervention.

The camera receives both control signals and power from the USB 2.0 port of your computer, so only one thin USB cable is required. For guiding, a standard, opto-isolated, autoguider output port is located in the back panel. An optional Guiding Kit is also available that turns the ST-I into a complete, compact, lightweight guiding system.
Please allow installation to complete without putting your Mac to sleep or closing its lid. During installation, your Mac might restart and show a progress bar several times, and the screen might be empty for minutes at a time.
